Health-Mosaic vaccine is first to tackle HIV's huge genetic diversity.

An HIV vaccine that could outwit the deadly virus could undergo human trials in as little as a year's time, scientists say.
The 'mosaic vaccine', which is being designed by an international team of investigators, works by being able to adapt to the virus as it mutates.
HIV's ability to evolve rapidly is what lets it dodge current drugs.
Bette Korber from Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, is one of the scientists who has worked on the project for 20 years.
She said: 'We're in the evolutionary fast lane studying HIV.
'If you give just one drug, HIV evolves away from it. That why treatments involve three or four drugs at once.'
The HIV virus, which is largely made up of proteins, causes AIDS - a disease that destroys the body's immune system leaving sufferers vulnerable to infections and tumours. The disease killed 1.8million people worldwide in 2009.

Houston Daycare Fire Escapee, Jessica Tata, Returns To US, Detained In Atlanta

The 22- year old Nigerian woman at the center of Houston, Texas daycare fire that killed four children returned to the US today after waiving her extradition rights.
Ms. Tata was arrested by US marshals upon her return to the US aboard a Delta airline flight into Atlanta from Lagos.  She was booked into the Fulton County jail in Atlanta.
Ms. Tata fled to Nigeria after the she was charged with manslaughter and child abandonment when the daycare center under her care burnt down, ignited by a stove she left on as she shopped for groceries nearby.

TWO DEAD IN JOS AS DEVICE THEY WERE CARRYING ON A BIKE WENT OFF!!!!

It was a sad Sunday for the people of Jos as two unknown persons on a commercial bike other wise known as okada were killed as they made their way through the busy road of the town, the two persons were said to have been carrying a device that exploded killing them on the spot and injuring a third person who is also  receiving treatment at the hospital. The state government officials are trying to keep the citizens calm.

Style Tips -Ways to Get Rid of a Pimple

Pimples…they come at the best of times, don’t you think so? Usually when you have a big event coming up, or you’re sleeping over at your man’s and you wake up with some rather unflattering red bumps. In either case, pimples are a nuisance and we need to put a stop to them NOW!!! This can be done with the following items.

Ok, so I’ve been watching Glee too much, but ice is actually a great way to reduce those massive surprise pimples. Just put some ice in a baggy and hold it against the pimple for about 10 minutes. This is actually called freezing a pimple..take that!

is my best friend! I carry this little tube of miracles in my bag all the time. Just apply to the pimple and it will greatly reduce the size and redness in no time.

Tea bags are another excellent way to reduce the size and redness of a pimple. Just boil some water, dip a tea bag in it (green tea works best), let it steep, and apply the tea bag to the pimple.

One of my favorite products in the world is Mario Badescu’s Drying Cream because it works miracles. Not only is this cream a lifesaver when it comes to minimizing pimples in record time, but it also works amazingly as a pimple concealer. So you can wear it underneath your foundation, making it almost non-existant,  while it is doing its job of drying out the pimple…genius!

his trick is as old as they get, but just make sure you use white toothpaste and not the blue, swirly kind because it won’t work as well. Usually the toothpaste on the pimple trick works best when you apply it at night and sleep on it…it’ll dry it right out!

Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, Chosen As The Winner Of Today's Presidential Debate On NN24 TV Channel

Kano state governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, was chosen by Nigerians across the world who watched the independent presidential debate conducted by Lagos-based NN24 TV channel between three presidential candidates which was streamed live on SaharaReporters.

SaharaReporters conducted a straw poll through its Blackberry chat users as well as a Facebook survey located on our fan page. Most of our respondents who gave their locations across different cities in Nigeria said they were most impressed by the calm, composed and effective responses given by the Kano state governor and candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) candidate.
Former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman and candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu was picked by pollsters as the second most impressive debater, most respondents thought he was passionate but restless.

Weekly Recipe- Fried Vegetable Sauce

1 cup of water
2 pieces of carrot
2 pieces of chili 
2 pieces of green pepper
120g cooking butter
a tin of hot dog
half cabbage
thyme
curry
sesame
3 cubes of know chicken.
salt to taste

put all the butter into a frying pan and let it heat for a while, then add salt to it.
chop all the carrots,green pepper,chilli,hotdog together.
slice the cabbage.
put all the chopped vegetables into a frying pan
stir it together and add the water.
leave to cook for 5 minutes
then add the sesame and the cabbage.
the last thing to add is the 3 cubes.
then leave to boil for 2 minutes.
